I attended YourStory TechSparks 2025

I attended Day 1 of the YourStory TechSparks 2025 conference and had a great time there! Some of the talks were very high quality, like for example the conversation with Mukesh Bansal (co-founder of Flipkart), a presentation by Mohit Saxena (CTO at InMobi) and the interview with Rajan Anandan (former head of Google India). There was a long and pragmatic panel discussion about enterprise adoption of AI featuring the CTO of Urban Company, the CEO of Whatfix, a VC at Bessemer Ventures and the COO of Teleradiology Services. Many of the top leaders emphasized the role of investment into research in fundamental sciences in order to compete in the new world of AI and “deep tech”. They framed it as a need for India – both its society and polity – to take scientific R&D seriously, because these days the geopolitical climate is inching towards aggressive competition when it comes to high tech domains.

Apart from the talks, there were a massive number of stalls. Among the products showcased were AI-based customer support and marketing software (practically every variant you can think of!), data analytics, learning tools, security software, and even a drone manufacturer and a company sending medicine ingredients into space for testing!  I probably spent as much time at these stalls as at the talks! And of course some time chatting with fellow attendees about the conference and their work.

Find below some videos and pictures that I took at the conference. It captures only a tiny slice of the large and immersive experience the event was.

Mukesh Bansal talking about deep tech startups in India
Mukesh Bansal on tools vs fundamentals
Mohit Saxena (CTO of InMobi) on the importance of scientific subjects

Not to forget, there was a terrific goodie bag for all attendees!
